For us, at Swanbourne Cellars, service isn’t just a buzzword. Collectively our management team have over 80 years’ experience in the wine industry. They all have trade qualifications in wine and all part-time staff are encouraged to learn about wine and spirits through external courses and fortnightly educational tastings in-house. The Morgan family bought Swanbourne Cellars in 1992 and have built a small wine store into a Western suburbs icon. While semi-retired the whole family are still involved in the business on a daily basis.
We are proud to know many of our customers by name and hope to make your day just a little easier with our ‘carry-to-car’ service. Let us impress you with our friendly and knowledgeable service.
We have in-store tastings most Friday afternoons, 4-7pm at Swanny Cellars.
On tasting Friday 16th November, are three wines from family run and owned winery Mazza, based in Donnybrook. Mazza was set up by husband and wife team David and Anne Mazza in 2002. They found their inspiration for their winery when they were living in London, tasting a number of Spanish and Portuguese wines. So when they returned home they decided to set up a winery focusing on grape varieties from these countries. They planted Bastardo, Graciano, Tempranillo, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional, and Sousão in 2002. From their 10 acres, they make five straight varietal wines and one blend of five varieties (Cinque). At the winery everything is done by hand – pruning, shoot thinning, fruit thinning, leaf plucking and fruit picking.
On tasting will be:
- Bastardo Rosé 2017
- Mazza Tempranillo 2014
- Cinque 2014: made from five different varieties – Graciano, Tempranillo, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional and Sousão
