What makes us different at Swanny Cellars?

Extensive knowledge of the industry

Swanbourne Cellars (‘Swanny Cellars’ as it is affectionately known to locals) is a western suburbs icon. Located in the Swanbourne village since 1992, the store is more than just a bottle shop. The team at the store has become part of the community sponsoring local sport clubs, hosting education events in the cellars and tastings in the store.

The Swanny Cellars team offer a personalised service to all customers. They take the time to get to know the customers and offer advice with their extensive knowledge of beers, wines and spirits. The Swanny Cellars team is a passionate bunch, focused on stocking the right choice for their locals, finding new and exciting parcels and are just pretty friendly guys!

The management team at Swanny Cellars are Steve, Stef, Tony, Sam and Anthony.

Swanbourne Cellars five managers

Steve Perry

Steve Perry leads the knowledgeable team at Swanny Cellars and has been at the helm for 22 years. He knows all the locals by first name and if he doesn’t know you, it means you haven’t been to the store enough!

Having worked his whole adult life in the western suburbs; first at John Coppins and now at Swanny Cellars; his knowledge and palate is second to none.

Stef Biagi

Stef was born in Italy and speaks fluent Italian. He has been at Swanny Cellars for 8 years and before that managed a number of liquor stores in Perth and the suburbs. Despite now being a local, he still has a soft spot for Italian wines.

In addition to searching and buying interesting wines and parcels at Swanny Cellars, Stef has been leading the esteemed Liquor Barons Wine Panel for 8 years; actively involved in collating the quarterly On the Vine brochure.

Tony Gangemi

Tony is responsible for buying whiskies, spirits and RTDs. He sources the latest whisky releases and new arrivals of gins. He is the facilitator; stepping in and supporting the team where required and overseeing stock for functions.

You could say that retail is in his blood with his family owning the Gangemi’s Fine Wine & Foods in West Perth when he was a teenager.

Anthony Reynolds

Anthony is a qualified winemaker. He initially worked for Palandri for over 9 years and then as winemaker for Cowaramup Wines for more than 10 years.

He has experience in retail as store owner of the Dalkeith Liquor Barons and also tasting on the Liquor Barons Tasting Panel. Anthony has diversified his palate and now distils gin part time while also working at Swanny Cellars.

Sam Perry

Sam has been at Swanny Cellars for over five years and moved into the role of beer buyer two years ago. With a passion for craft beer and the ever increasing diversity of the industry, he is always on the lookout for new and interesting beers he knows Swanny Cellars customers will be keen to try.

So far Sam’s enthusiasm for craft has been popular with the locals so check out the fridge the next time you drop in to see what’s new!

We look forward to seeing you at Swanny Cellars!
