Jack’s birthday beers
……First cab off the rank is always a 750ml bottle of Saison Dupont (best consumed with half of your body submerged in the ocean). It’s super refreshing citrus notes, spicy yeast, lively carbonation and bone dry finish make this an awesome summer thirst quencher. Jack added some prawn skewers as a great food match.
As another birthday treat, Jack decided to crack open a big bottle of Lindemans Cuvee Rene Kriek. This puckeringly sour Lambic beer from Belgium is full of funk, woody texture, racy acid and a delicate lingering cherry thanks to the addition of fresh sour cherries. Add crispy skinned duck for a great food pairing.
After a few full flavoured beers it’s time for a good session beer. Swanny Cellars’ new and exciting acquisition of Holgate Hop Tart combines pale ale and sour beer to great effect. Each sip gives you slight tropical hop notes, a little bready malt and a sour and dry finish. This unique brew is very complex yet extremely easy to drink. If you haven’t tried it yet you must add it to your shopping basket.
