Perth Royal Beer Awards
Now in its 11th year, we were thrilled to see local and WA breweries winning a number of trophies at this year’s Perth Royal Beer Awards.
Entries included home brewers, commercial, microbrewers as well as mid and small sized craft breweries. The number of entries each year continues to grow as more breweries get involved in creating different types of beer.
Not only did local Feral Brewery win awards, other WA breweries including Brewhouse, Gage Roads and Homestead also did!
There were special trophies awarded which included The Hopco Trophy for Best Commercial Brewery given to Feral Brewing Company, the Sail and Anchor Trophy for Best West Australian Brewery, again given to Feral Brewing Company. Brewhouse Margaret River won the Beer and Beef Club of Perth Trophy and Cash Prize for Best Commercial Beer of the Show for the Peater Coupan Barrel Aged Stout. The same beer also won the President Royal Agricultural Society of WA for Best West Australian Beer of the Show.
Brewhouse from Margaret River also won the Hopco Trophy for Best Stout Draught (Peater Coupan Barrel Aged Stout), Gage Roads won the Lion Tophy for best Reduced Alcohol Packaged (Pils 3.5), Homestead Brewery won the Cryer Malt Trophy for Best Wheat Beer Draught (Kaisers Choice).
It is great that the competition is open to amateurs too. This really is an all inclusive event! The Brewmart Trophy for Best Amateur Beer of the Show was won by David & Brigitte Seaman for their Raspberry Pie-Berliner Weiss.
There were so many awards, we can’t list them all, so click here for the details. Find out about the judges from page 9 and from page 18 for all the results.
